Countryside Farmers' Markets

The Countryside Farmers' Markets (CFM) are unique, producers-only farmers' markets established and managed by the Countryside Conservancy (CC).  Our markets are unique in that they are located on the grounds of three remarkable properties of incomparable beauty: Howe Meadow in Peninsula, nestled in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park; Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, a mansion and country estate of historical significance to the greater Akron area; and in the winter we are found indoors at Happy Days Lodge, a beautiful Civilian Conservation Corps era building in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

The purpose of the Countryside Farmers' Markets is three-fold:

Provide a venue where local farmers, producers, artisans and a limited number of artists can sell their high-quality products directly to the consumer.

Connect consumers with a wide array of locally grown and produced foods and goods in a setting that allows them to interact directly with the grower or producer, thereby re-connecting them to the source of their food.

Create a space that allows for community interaction and enjoyment, informal public education and civic engagement.

We Have a Winner!!

Our "$25 for 25" raffle drawing was held on April 17 at the final Countryside Winter Farmers' Market at Happy Days Lodge, and our luck winner was Mary Kay Ball. Congratulations to Mary Kay, and we hope you enjoy a season full of delicious, local food!

No Pets at the Market, Please

While we love our furry friends, there is a "No Dogs Allowed" policy within the Countryside Farmers' Markets.   Howe Meadow is a great place for dogs, however, and we encourage you to take them for a romp in the vast spaces outside of the market itself.  Or, hop across the street to the Towpath Trail and have a nice hike with your four-legged friend.  Keep in mind that the Cuyahoga Valley National Park requires that dogs be kept on leashes at all times.

Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens does not permit dogs on their premises.  For more information on Stan Hywet's policy, please visit their website.
